Ruminations of a Heretic

Why blog? To share and challenge thinking!

I am Creative Carl Constantly Crafting Change

Your time as a caterpillar has expired. Your wings are ready. Step into the fire of self-discovery. This fire will not burn you; it will only burn what you are not. While they say that a rolling stone gathers no moss, in fact as we roll through life we gather an abundance of experiences. Our reflections on those experiences provides the basis for our perceptions and those perceptions help us craft a sense of meaning for our lives. Theological reflection is something we all do informally and often nonconsciously.  I hope my comments will help you become more aware of and intentional about your own theologizing. If you’re going to follow me, it might be important to know whom you’re following.

As a psychotherapist, how do you see Freudian thinking melding with Fantappie’s concept of the “superconscious mind”?

    1. Freud talked about the superego, which was his explanation of the conscience–our sense of right and wrong. The idea of the Supercounscious mind is more akin to the theories of Assagioli and Jung who spoke of a consciousness beyond or above our ordinary awareness.
